1 Dead, 2 Detained In North Side Stabbing

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- One person is dead, another person was injured and two people have been detained in an overnight stabbing on Pittsburgh's North Side.

According to authorities, an argument led to the multiple stabbing in the 900-block of Kirkbride Street just before 2 a.m.

Pittsburgh police have identified the victim as 26-year-old Michael Weismantle of the North Side. Police say he was driven in a vehicle to the Zone One police station after authorities had already been called to the scene of the incident.

Weismantle had been stabbed in the torso and was unconscious. He was then taken to Allegheny General Hospital where he was pronounced dead, police report.

Investigators say the argument "turned physical when a female went to the home" of another person to get some person items. Police say Weismantle had accompanied the woman to the home.

When the fight ended, police say two men living in that home are accused of attacking Weismantle.

Authorities say another man tried to break up the fight, but was stabbed in the back. He has not been identified, but police say he is 43-years-old.

He was also taken to Allegheny General Hospital where he was treated and released.

Police have now identified the suspects as 44-year-old Bryan Osborne and his son 19-year-old Alex Osborne. Both are facing charges of criminal homicide and criminal conspiracy in connection with Weismantle's death. Bryan Osborne is also charged with aggravated assault in connection with the injuries the second victim sustained.

Both are being held in the Allegheny County Jail.
