1 Dead, 1 Taken Into Custody After Fatal Lincoln Place Crash

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- One man is dead and another man was taken into police custody following an overnight crash in Pittsburgh's Lincoln Place neighborhood.

The one-vehicle accident happened around 1:12 a.m. in the 800-block of Mooney Road.

According to Pittsburgh Police, the driver is believed to have lost control of the older-model Jeep Grand Cherokee, hit a parked car and then overturned.

That's how police say they found the vehicle when they arrived at the scene. They also found an unresponsive male inside.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Allegheny County Medical Examiner's Office identifies him as as 25-year-old Jason Sedlak of Munhall.

A witness told police he heard the loud crash and then went outside to the scene where he helped the driver out of the overturned vehicle.

Police say the driver then ran away. However, a police dog helped officers track him down in a nearby wooded area.

He was taken into custody and then to the hospital for treatment. Officials have not released the 32-year-old man's identity.

Police say it is "believed that alcohol may have been a factor in the crash."

However, the investigation continues.
