Man In Custody After Brentwood Shooting Leaves 1 Dead & 1 Injured
BRENTWOOD (KDKA) -- A Munhall man was killed and another man injured in a shooting late Wednesday night in Brentwood.
Homicide investigators say Daevon Plowden, 28, fired the gun that took the life of 26-year-old Tamar Taylor, of Munhall.
It was around 9:30 p.m. when Taylor was driving his car on Bellanca Avenue with his passenger, Daniel Jones.
Jones, who has a PFA, wasn't supposed to show up at his ex-girlfriend's house, but he did. When Plowden, who is her current boyfriend, saw Jones, he told him he wasn't allowed to be there.
That's when Plowden said Jones went back to the car and reportedly held a gun over the hood. Plowden said he pulled out his gun and started to shoot at Taylor and the car took off.
Jones was hit once in the buttocks. Taylor, who was still behind the wheel, was hit and killed.
"Suffered from multiple gunshot wounds in a vehicle that had crashed into another parked vehicle," Allegheny County Police Lt. Andrew Schurman said.
Jones was taken to the hospital and is going to be okay. Police said they found Plowden hiding in the woods behind another home.
Plowden faces several charges including, homicide and having a gun without a license. He's being held in the Allegheny County Jail.
