LAWRENCE COUNTY, Pa. (KDKA) – One man is dead and another is in jail after an early-morning Lawrence County shooting Saturday.
It happened around 2 a.m. outside the Weisz's Hazel Manor Restaurant and Lounge on North Street in Ellwood City.
Police say 25-year-old Ian Frey shot 38-year-old Keith Knox three times in the parking lot, fatally wounding him.
The incident initially started after the two men allegedly got into a fight inside the bar.
When Frey got inside his car to leave, police say Knox approached the car, pulled out Frey and punched him.
Frey then reached for a gun and shot him.
Afterward, Frey was heard screaming "I shot him, I shot him," according to police.
Police say Knox was dead by the time they arrived on the scene.
Authorities say Frey is claiming self-defense.
Frey is being held in the Lawrence County Jail.
He is charged with criminal homicide.
