1 Arrested, 1 Charged In Uniontown Sheetz Robbery
UNIONTOWN (KDKA) – One person has been arrested and another has been charged in connection with an armed robbery of a Sheetz in Fayette County.
According to police, the incident happened on May 28, at 12:30 a.m. at the Sheetz on Route 40 outside of Uniontown.
Surveillance photos show the suspect, a white male, as he storms through the back door and goes straight for a 27-year-old woman who was handling money near a safe in the back.
Photos show the suspect hitting the woman repeatedly before leaving and grabbing money that was on a nearby table.
The suspect slipped out the back door the same way he came. He pushed right past a woman who was coming out of the restroom and was then seen again as he makes his way past the dumpster out back.
Police have arrested Matt Etling, of Uniontown and he is currently being lodged in the Fayette County Jail.
In addition, police have also filed charges against Shawn Knight, 18, of Uniontown.
An arrest warrant has been obtained for Knight who is facing a list of charges including, robbery, conspiracy and theft.
Knight is described as a white male standing 5-feet-7-inches tall and weighing about 150 pounds. He had brown hair and blue eyes.
He is known to drive a grey Honda Civic with Pennsylvania registration HVV-2101 or a Yamaha sport bike with Pennsylvania registration 7396Y.
