World's tallest buildings, monuments and other structures

Considered to be the world's tallest lighthouse - though there are disputes over the qualifications of "lighthouse" - the Yokohoma Marine Tower stands at 348 feet and is located in Yokohama, Japan.
Burj Khalifa
The Burj Khalifa is a skyscraper located in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, that holds the title of the tallest man-made structure ever built at 2,717 feet.
Anaconda Smelter Stack
The Anaconda Smelter Stack measures 584 feet and is located in Anaconda, Mont. It holds the title of the world's tallest free-standing masonry structure in the world.
CN Tower
The CN Tower is a communications and observation tower in Downtown Toronto, Canada that stands 1,815 feet tall. It held the title of tallest completed tower in the world for over 34 years before being surpassed by the Canton Tower in 2010.
Canton Tower
The Canton Tower in Guangdong, China, briefly held the title of tallest completed tower in the world at 1,968.5 feet, replacing the CN Tower. It was recently surpassed by the Tokyo Sky Tree which reached its full height in 2011 (though is still under construction).
Tokyo Sky Tree
While it has reached its full height of 2,080 feet and become the world's tallest tower, the Tokyo Sky Tree is still under construction and will not actually open as a broadcasting, restaurant and observation tower until sometime in late 2011.
Chicago Temple Building
At 568 feet, the Chicago Temple Building in Chicago, Ill., holds the title of tallest church building in the world.
Gateway Arch
At 630 feet, the Gateway Arch (also known as the "Gateway to the West") in St. Louis, Mo., holds the title of tallest man-made monument in the United States.
Gliwice Radio Tower
At 387 feet, Gliwice Radio Tower in Upper Silesia, Poland is the tallest wooden structure in the world.
Ericsson Globe
The Ericsson Globe in Stockholm, Sweden, is currently the largest hemispherical building (i.e. globe) in the world coming in at a height of 279 feet and a diameter of 3.61 feet.
Great Pyramid Giza
The Great Pyramid was the tallest man-made structure in the world for over 3,800 years with a current height of 455.4 ft.
Kiev TV Tower
Located in Kiev, Ukraine, the Kiev TV Tower holds the title of tallest freestanding lattice steel construction in the world with a height of 1,263.1 feet.
KVLY-TV mast
The KVLY-TV mast is a 2,063-foot tall television-transmitting mast in Blanchard, N.D., that held the title of tallest structure ever built until the Burj Khalifa overtook it in 2008.
Hassan II Mosque
The Hassan II Mosque in Casablanca, Morocco, holds the title of tallest minaret ever built with a height of 689 feet.
NTT Docomo Yoyogi Building
At 892 feet, the NTT Docomo Yoyogi Building in Tokyo, Japan, became the tallest clock tower in the world after a clock was installed into the face of it in 2002.
Petronas Twin Towers
The Petronas Towers are twin towers in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia that each measure 1,483 feet tall. They were the tallest buildings in the world until 2004 when they were surpassed by Taipei 101, but remain the tallest twin buildings in the world.
Taipei 101
The Taipei World Financial Center in Taipei, Taiwan is 1,670.6 feet and became the world's tallest building in 2004 until the opening of the Burj Khalifa in Dubai in 2010.
Qutub Minar
The Qutb Minar tower in Delhi, India, is the world's tallest brick minaret at 237.8 feet tall.
San Jacinto Monument
The San Jacinto Monument near La Porte, Texas, is the world's tallest monumental column at 567.31 feet.
Mole Antonelliana
At 548 feet, the Mole Antonelliana in Turin, Italy, is believed to hold the title of the tallest museum in the world.
Shanghai World Financial Center
The Shanghai World Financial Center in Shanghai, China comes in at 1,614.2 feet and holds the title of second-tallest building in the world, which is not too shabby a title. It also hold's the title for world's tallest observation deck with a view accessible at 1,555 feet.
Santa Cruz del Valle de los Caido
Santa Cruz del Valle de los Caido is located near Madrid, Spain, and is the tallest memorial cross in the world at around 500 feet.
Singapore Flyer
At 541 feet tall, the Singapore Flyer, located in Singapore, holds the title of world's tallest Ferris wheel (with quiet a view at the top).
Suvarnabhumi Airport control tower
The Suvarnabhumi Airport control tower in Bangkok, Thailand holds the title of world's tallest at 434 feet.
Spire of Dublin
At 397.6 feet tall, the Spire of Dublin (officially called the "Monument of Light") located in Dublin, Ireland, holds the title for the tallest sculpture in the world.
Ushiku Daibutsu
The Ushiku Daibutsu comes in at 394 feet tall and is one of the tallest statues in the world. The statue is located in Ushiku, Japan.
