Signs of the season are everywhere you look at the White House, where elaborate Christmas decorations went on display right after Thanksgiving. Here, glittering trees line the Grand Foyer on December 2, 2019.
This year's theme is "The Spirit of America," which the White House calls "a tribute to the traditions, customs, and history that make our Nation great."

At 18 feet tall, the official White House Christmas tree is decorated with handmade paper flowers that pay homage to the distinctive floral emblem of each U.S. state and territory. The tree is on display in the Blue Room at the White House.
