Two Minn. cousins fatally shot on Thanksgiving Day
The bodies of two teenage cousins who went missing on Thanksgiving Day were found by police the next day on Nov. 23, 2012, in the basement of a Minnesota home. School officials identified the victims as 18-year-old Haile Kifer (left) and 17-year-old Nicholas Brady (right). The alleged shooter, 64-year-old Byron David Smith, is being held for second-degree murder in their shooting deaths. Smith told police he shot the two during a break-in attempt on Thanksgiving Day, but authorities said his actions exceeded a reasonable self-defense.
