"The Wonder Years" celebrates 25 years: Where are they now?

"The Wonder Years" captured America's hearts when it premiered 25 years ago -- in 1988. The ABC series ran from 1988-1993 after debuting on Jan. 31, 1988, following Super Bowl XXII. Created by husband-and-wife duo Neal Marlens and Carol Black, the series was originally going to take place in Marlens' native Long Island, but in the end, "The Wonder Years" was filmed in California and was intended to take place in an unspecified suburb.

In 1988, "The Wonder Years" scored an Emmy for best comedy series. TV Guide named the series one of the 20 best of the 1980s.

In addition to the main cast, several up-and-coming stars made appearances on the show through the years, including Alicia Silverstone, David Schwimmer, Dustin Diamond, Robin Thicke and Seth Green.

Fred Savage played the lead role, Kevin Arnold, on the series, which took place from 1968 to 1973.

He started acting at age 9, appearing in the movie, "The Boy Who Could Fly." He went on to star in the 1987's "The Princess Bride" before landing the starring role on "The Wonder Years."

After catapulting to fame on "The Wonder Years," Savage appeared in a series of TV movies and starred in the late '90s TV show, "Working." In 1999, he graduated from Stanford University with a degree in English. He more recently sat in the director's chair, directing episodes of "2 Broke Girls," "Modern Family" and "Happy Endings." Over the past few years, Savage has voiced a character on the TV series, "Generator Rex." He got married in 2004 and has three children.

Dan Lauria played Kevin's father, Jack Arnold. In the series finale, it was revealed that he dies in 1975, near the end of Kevin's first year of college.

Prior to "The Wonder Years," Lauria starred on "Cagney & Lacey" and made appearances on "Wiseguy," "Moonlight" and "Growing Pains."

After "The Wonder Years," Lauria had roles on "Party of Five," "Amazing Grace" and "Ed." He's been active ever since, appearing in "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit," "Nurse Jackie" "NCIS: Los Angeles," among other shows. He currently stars in the TBS series "Sullivan & Son."

Actress Alley Mills played Norma Arnold, Kevin's mother on the series.

After "The Wonder Years" went off the air, Mills had a recurring role on "Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman." From 2001-2004, she starred in "Yes, Dear," and since 2006, she's had a part on "The Bold and the Beautiful."

Jason Hervey played Wayne Arnold, Kevin's older brother, often calling him "butthead."

Hervey began his career starring in some 250 commercials, later appearing on "Diff'rent Strokes."

Jason Hervey has only had a few acting gigs since "The Wonder Years," starring in the short-lived early 2000s TV series, "100 Deeds for Eddie McDowd." He has since focused his energies on producing. He has two children with wife, Shannon.

Olivia d'Abo as Karen Arnold

Olivia d'Abo portrayed Karen Arnold, Kevin's older, hippie sister.

She's the daughter of model/actress Maggie London and Mike d'Abo, vocalist and keyboard player for Manfred Mann.

Olivia d'Abo had plenty of guest appearances after her stint on "The Wonder Years," including roles on "Party of Five," "Spin City," "Justice League," Law & Order: Criminal Intent" and "Star Wars: The Clone Wars." She's currently attached to "Paganini: The Devil's Violinist," also starring "Joely Richardson."

Josh Saviano played Kevin's friend, Paul Joshua Pfeiffer.

Saviano abandoned acting after "The Wonder Years." He went on to major in in political science at Yale before getting his law degree from Yeshiva's Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in New York in 2003. He's currently a partner in Morrison Cohen's Corporate Department, working in intellectual property with a focus on celebrity and corporate brands.

Danica McKellar portrayed Gwendolyn "Winnie" Cooper, Kevin's main love interest and neighbor. During the pilot episode, actors Fred Savage and Danica McKellar, each shared their first kiss. Prior to "The Wonder Years," McKellar had made a few appearances in "The Twilight Zone."

After "The Wonder Years" ended, McKellar had a few guest appearances on TV series, including "Walker, Texas Ranger," Savage's "Working" and others. She also focused on her studies, going on to graduate summa cum laude from UCLA with a mathematics degree. In recent years, she has popped up on "How I Met Your Mother" and "The Big Bang Theory." McKellar has also voiced a character on the TV show, "Young Justice." In 2014, she competed on "Dancing with the Stars." As for her personal life, McKellar announced her divorce from composer Mike Verta in February 2013. They have one child.
