Brad Pitt sees a parallel between himself and the 19th century celebrity outlaw he plays in "Jesse James." Even then, he says, the tabloid press "was alive and well. There wasn't as much of it, but it operated the exact same way. Speculation, fabrication, with little need for the truth." Here, Pitt attends the movie's New York premiere on Sept. 18, 2007.
"The film does deal with celebrity, and casting somebody like Brad in a movie that deals with celebrity is a good thing ... Who he is works for the part," says writer-director Andrew Dominik, seen with Robin Tunney at the U.S. premiere of "Jesse James" on Sept. 18, 2007. Dominik directed Pitt in his breakthrough role in "Thelma and Louise."
