Posing on the red carpet June 18, 2007, in New York before the 32nd annual Gracie Allen Awards. The awards honor the work of women in radio and television.
Arriving at the 32nd Annual Gracie Awards at Marriott Marquis June 18, 2007, in New York City. This shot was taken by a professtional photographer. The following photos were taken by my 8-year-old daughter, who got a bird's-eye view of the event!
Doing the red carpet thing and doing an interview with "Extra" correspondent AJ Calloway before the Gracie Awards June 18, 2007. I was wearing my favorite gown by designer Carmen Marc Valvo. I love the warm summer months here in New York, because we finally get to wear white!
Backstage with legendary tennis star Billie Jean King. I presented her an award for her fantastic documentary which is airing on HBO. She's always been one of my idols, because she's so accomplished in her own right and at the same time, really supportive of other women.
At our table with news legends Linda Ellerbee and CBS "Face the Nation" host Bob Schieffer. Bob was telling me about a band he's pulled together. They've cut a CD and are playing in New York next week even though Bob says he doesn't play any instruments and claims he can't sing!
My daughter took this picture, as you can tell from the angle (she was down low). Comedian Chris Rock explained to her that he was the voice of the zebra Marty in the movie "Madagascar" and she replied that Chris didn't sound anything like him! He proceeded to deliver lines from the movie, but she was still skeptical!
The view from backstage, also taken by my 8-year-old, as I was presenting Billie Jean King with her award. I think my daughter's a pretty decent photographer!
One of the people I was looking forward to seeing the most at the Gracie Awards was my buddy Taylor Swift, the 17- year-old country music sensation. She looked adorable in her Catherine Malandrino dress. We both like fashion and she's told me that I'm one of her role models. Last night, we talked about how she's also a role model for a lot of young girls.
Having a laugh backstage with Taylor Swift. She told me she wrote her big hit, "Tim McGraw" in just 15 minutes and that she got the idea one day during math class. She also said that she's going to learn to play the drums this summer in between the four tours that she is doing. She told me she's obsessed with her work right now and is really happy.
