Tensions escalate on Korean peninsula
North Korea announced it will withdraw all workers from the Kaesong joint industrial complex, five days after unilaterally banning South Korean workers re-entry to Kaesong. The North has also urged all foreign companies and tourists in South Korea to evacuate the country.

The massive industrial site, run jointly by the North and South for nearly a decade, was a virtual ghost town Tuesday, its South Korean managers left to wander past shutdown assembly lines or stuff their cars to the brim with whatever goods would fit before heading south for the Demilitarized Zone that divides the nations.
North Korea on Tuesday urged all foreign companies and tourists in South Korea to evacuate, saying the two countries are on the verge of a nuclear war. The new threat appeared to be an attempt to scare foreigners into pressing their governments to pressure Washington and Seoul to act to avert a conflict.
North Korea has unleashed a flurry of war threats and provocations over U.N. sanctions for its last nuclear test, and over the ongoing U.S.-South Korean military drills, which the allies say are routine but Pyongyang says is a preparation for a northward invasion.
