On March 25, 1996, Susan Sarandon won the Best Actress Oscar for her work in "Dead Man Walking." She posed, holding the award, with Best Actor winner Nicolas Cage ("Leaving Las Vegas"), Best Supporting actress Mira Sorvino ("Mighty Aphrodite"), and Best Supporting actor Kevin Spacey ("The Usual Suspects"). Sarandon has said that she keeps her Oscar in the bathroom.

In the movie "Thelma & Louise" (1991), Sarandon played Louise and Geena Davis played Thelma. For many people who saw this film, it marked the first time they noticed a certain young actor by the name of Brad Pitt.
