On Dec. 8, 2011, a man killed a police officer and another person after a traffic stop Thursday at Virginia Tech. The event reminded many of the 2007 shooting, where a student killed 33 people in the deadliest mass shooting in modern U.S. history.
Students took it upon themselves to report from the campus through social media updates and pictures. Sophomore Michael Morrison, an electrical engineering student at Virginia Tech, was able to capture some of the events of the day.
