The sober awards fare is coming out on DVD and the summer's special effects blockbusters have yet to make an appearance. Spring offerings are usually more modest movies that tend to get lost in the fireworks of summer or sophistication of fall.
Here, Keith Richards, director Martin Scorsese, Mick Jagger and Ron Wood are seen in Paramount Pictures' "Shine a Light." The documentary, shot in 2006, opens April 4.
"My Blueberry Nights"
Actress Rachel Weisz in "My Blueberry Nights," which opens April, 4. It's the first acting foray for the Grammy-winning singer Norah Jones. It also stars Natalie Portman and Jude Law.
"Nim's Island"
Abigail Breslin and Jodie Foster appear in Fox Walden's "Nim's Island," which also opens April 4. Oscar winner Foster plays an author and Oscar nominee Breslin is a fan whose island paradise is threatened in this adventure movie.
"Smart People"
Dennis Quaid and Sarah Jessica Parker in a scene from Miramax Films' "Smart People." Oscar nominees Ellen Page and Thomas Haden Church also star in this dramedy about midlife crises and teen-age rebellion. It opens April 11.

"Harold & Kumar Escape From Guantanamo Bay"
Kal Penn and John Cho star in New Line Cinema's "Harold and Kumar Escape From Guantanamo Bay," which opens April 25. Though most sequels are targeted for summer, this follow up to 2004's "Harold & Kumar Go To White Castle" has a built-in fan base.
"Street Kings"
Keanu Reeves is seen in Fox Searchlight Pictures' "Street Kings," which opens April 11. Oscar winner Forest Whitaker also stars in this crime thriller set on the streets of Los Angeles. It is written by crime author James Ellroy and directed by "Training Day" writer David Ayer.
"Leatherheads"

"88 Minutes"
Al Pacino stars in Sony Pictures' "88 Minutes," which opens April 18. The title refers to the time that a professed killer is giving Pacino's character, a forensic psychologist, to prevent his (Pacino's) own murder.
"Then She Found Me"
"Then She Found Me" director Helen Hunt also stars in the romantic comedy which opens April 25. It's about the chaos that ensues when a teacher loses her husband and adoptive mother only to find her biological mother and her true love. It also stars Matthew Broderick, Bette Midler and Colin Firth.
"Drillbit Taylor"
Troy Gentile, Owen Wilson, Nate Hartley and David Dorfman in Paramount Pictures' "Drillbit Taylor," which opens March 21. Produced by Judd Apatow and written by Seth Rogan, the "Knocked Up" star, it is a fantasy about three nerds seeking protection from a bully.
"Dr. Seuss' Horton Hears a Who"
A still from the film "Dr. Seuss' Horton Hears a Who," which is being released by 20th Century Fox on March 14. Jim Carrey and Steve Carell give voice to the movie's main characters.
"Stop-Loss"
Ryan Phillippe and Channing Tatum in Paramount Pictures' "Stop-Loss," which comes to theaters March 28. It is yet another in a string of Iraq war movies this year. This one concerns a soldier being shipped back to the war zone against his wishes.
"Tyler Perry's Meet The Browns"
Rick Fox and Angela Bassett in a scene from "Tyler Perry's Meet the Browns," being released by Lionsgate Films on March 21. This is a comedy about a single mom with eccentric relatives.
"Funny Games"
