Royals attend Trooping The Colour ceremony

Queen Elizabeth II, accompanied by Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, stand outside Buckingham Palace for the Trooping the Colour ceremony after the Horse Guards Parade on June 16, 2012, in London. The annual ceremony, made up of more than 600 guardsmen and cavalry, is believed to have first been performed during the reign of King Charles II. The parade marked the official birthday of the Sovereign, even though the Queen's actual birthday is on April 21.
