Anthony Ervin
Anthony Ervin came in first at 21.40 seconds - a hundredth of a second ahead of defending champion Florent Manaudou of France in the men's 50m freestyle for a gold medal on Aug. 12, 2016.
Ervin, 35, won gold in the same event 16 years ago, at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney. He then left competitive swimming, and auctioned off his gold medal, donating the $17,100 proceeds to help victims of the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami.
