Princess Elizabeth leaves Westminster Abbey in London, with her husband, the Duke of Edinburgh, on Nov. 20, 1947, after their wedding ceremony. The Greek-born prince renounced his titles as a prince of Greece and Denmark when he married the future queen. A distant descendant of Queen Victoria, he also was very remotely in the line of succession to the British throne.
