Presidents turning 50

President Obama, who was born on August 4, 1961, is turning 50 this week. Check out the following slides to see other presidents who have reached that milestone birthday while in office.

Bill Clinton

President Bill Clinton celebrated his 50th birthday on August 19, 1996, while campaigning for re-election. He held a birthday party and Democratic fundraiser at New York City's Radio City Music Hall, where he spoke to the crowd about his accomplishments as President. First Lady Hillary Clinton also held a birthday party for the president at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York City.

Theodore Roosevelt

Theodore Roosevelt, the 26th president, celebrated his 50th birthday on October 27, 1908, during his second term in office.

Grover Cleveland

Grover Cleveland, the 22nd president, celebrated his 50th birthday on March 18, 1887, during his first of two nonconsecutive terms as president.

Ulysses S. Grant

Ulysses S. Grant, the 18th president, turned 50 on April 27, 1872, during his first of two terms as president.

Franklin Pierce

Franklin Pierce, the 14th president, celebrated his 50th birthday on November 23, 1854, just one year into his presidency.
