Las Vegas - Amphicar
A 1965 Amphicar (L) driven by Dean Baker of Lake Havasu, Arizona, and a 1963 Amphicar, driven by Rob Vondracek of Fountain Hills, Arizona, drive out of Lake Mead during the first Las Vegas Amphicar Swim-in at Lake Mead near Las Vegas. The German-made Amphicar was produced from 1961-1968.
Turkey - bomb blasts

The Sun - a coronal hole
Dark area across the top of the sun, known as a coronal hole, a region on the sun where the magnetic field is open to interplanetary space, sending coronal material speeding out in what is called a high-speed solar wind stream, is shown in this handout photo taken October 10, 2015 and provided by NASA October 14, 2015. The high-speed solar wind originating from this coronal hole, imaged by NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory, created a geomagnetic storm near Earth that resulted in several nights of auroras. This image was taken in wavelengths of 193 Angstroms, which is invisible to our eyes and is typically colorized in bronze, according to
North Korea anniversary

Isolated North Korea marked the 70th anniversary of its ruling Workers' Party with a massive military parade overseen by leader Kim Jong Un, who said his country was ready to fight any war waged by the United States.

The game was held with the attendance of school children, Nihonbashi, Yaesu and Kyobashi Community Associations and the Street Rugby Alliance to mark Japan's hosting of the Rugby World Cup in 2019.
India - Navratri festival

The festival, held in honor of the Hindu goddess Durga, is celebrated over nine days. In Hindu mythology, Durga symbolizes power and the triumph of good over evil.
Palestinian-Israeli violence

A Palestinian stabbed and moderately wounded a 70-year-old woman outside the station, at the entrance to the city, before an officer shot him dead. Israel began setting up roadblocks in Palestinian neighborhoods in East Jerusalem and deploying soldiers across the country on October 14 to stop a wave of Palestinian knife attacks.
Seven Israelis and 32 Palestinians, including children and assailants, have been killed in two weeks of bloodshed in Israel, Jerusalem and the occupied West Bank.

Bethlehem - Palestinian funeral
The sister of 27-year-old Palestinian Mutaz Zawahereh, who was killed by Israeli troops during clashes on October 13, 2015, touches his body during his funeral in the West Bank city of Bethlehem October 14.
Seven Israelis and 30 Palestinians, including children and assailants, have been killed in two weeks of bloodshed in Israel, Jerusalem and the occupied West Bank. The violence has been partly triggered by Palestinians' anger over what they see as increased Jewish encroachment on Jerusalem's Al-Aqsa mosque compound, also revered by Jews as the site of two destroyed Jewish temples.
Glasgow - buildings demolished
The last remaining Red Road flats are demolished in a controlled explosion on October 11, 2015 in Glasgow, Scotland.
The 1960s blocks were once the tallest residential blocks in Europe and were initially hailed as a welcome solution to Glasgows overcrowded slums.
Pope Francis and Chilean miners
Pope Francis meets with a group of Chilean miners rescued from the 2010 mining accident at the end of the weekly general audience at St Peter's square on October 14, 2015 at the Vatican, on the five-year anniversary of the rescue of the 33 miners.
The miners, who stayed alive for more than two months underground before their dramatic rescue, were in Rome to promote a film about the mine disaster. The miners gave the Pope Francis a helmet signed by all the miners and a framed message (seen in the photo).
Bethlehem - Palestinians protest

The rising tide of unrest, which has seen a series of stabbing attacks and violent protests, has raised fears that a full-scale third Palestinian uprising, or intifada, could erupt.

London - Danger Mouse

A baby, two children and a woman drowned after their wooden boat and a coast guard vessel crashed during a migrant rescue operation off Lesbos.
The boat, which the coast guard said was old, sank after the crash and 31 people were rescued.
Kosovo - tear gas

It was the second such incident in a week in protest at a European Union-brokered accord with Serbia.
San Salvador - army patrol

Krishevsky was one of three Israelis killed in stabbing attacks in Jerusalem October 13. Palestinian men armed with knives and a gun killed at least three people and wounded several others in a string of attacks in Jerusalem and near Tel Aviv.
Switzerland - Aletsch Glacier

One of Europe's biggest glaciers, the Great Aletsch coils 23 km (14 miles) through the Swiss Alps. The glacier, 900 metres (2,950 feet) thick at one point, has retreated about 3 km (1.9 miles) since 1870 and that pace is quickening.
