Thousands of police attended the funeral for Moore, a 25-year-old New York City officer who was shot in the head while on patrol, making him the fifth member of the NYPD to die in the line of duty since December.

As many as 8,000 Rohingya migrants, who are effectively stateless, are believed to be stranded at sea off the coasts of Thailand, Malaysia, and Indonesia. They have dwindling supplies of food and water and aren't wanted by any country.

Nepal - miracle baby
Dolma Tamang, was buried under the rubble created by the April 25, 2015 earthquake. Though she was wounded and had trouble breathing, Tamang was able to dig herself out. Two weeks after the earthquake struck -- as she was going into labor -- the Japanese Red Cross took her to a clinic to deliver a healthy baby boy.
"Even though we lost almost all our belongings and live in a temporary shelter, I could not be happier and more thankful for this little miracle," said Tamang.
