In late March photojournalist Sophia Germer documented the sites of New Orleans before and after Louisiana ordered bars, dine-in restaurants, malls, casinos and entertainment venues closed due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

New Orleans-based Sophia Germer is an award-winning photojournalist for The Times-Picayune/New Orleans Advocate (NOLA.com). After obtaining her BFA degree in photography from the San Francisco Art Institute, Germer has exhibited her images at the Ogden Museum of Southern Art and the Contemporary Art Center of New Orleans; the Loin Gallery in San Francisco; and the University of Applied Arts Vienna.
