Ohio high school shooting victims

Daniel Parmertor, 16, was one of two students killed in the shooting at Cardon High School Monday. According to the AP, he was shot while waiting for the bus for his daily 15-minute ride to a vocational center.

Russell King Jr., 17, was one of two students killed in the shooting at Chardon High School on Monday, February 27, 2012. He was declared brain dead at MetroHealth Medical Center on Tuesday, February 28, 2012.

Demetrius Hewlin, a student from Chardon High School also passed away, according to hospital MetroHealth System. His family released the following statement:

"We are very saddened by the loss of our son and others in our Chardon community. Demetrius was a happy young man who loved life and his family and friends. We will miss him very much but we are proud that he will be able to help others through organ donation. We ask that you respect our privacy during this difficult time."

His family, who has sought privacy, donated his organs. Demetrius would have turned 17 next week.

Daniel Parmertor, 16, had just gotten his first job at a bowling alley and couldn't stop talking about how excited he was to pick up his first paycheck later this week, his parents said. Instead, Bob and Dina Parmertor are considering burying the check with the body of their son. "That's all he was talking about," Dina Parmetor said.

The Cleveland Plain Dealer newspaper reports that like so many other 17-year-olds, Russell King Jr. liked fishing, rock music and playing rough-and-tumble games of sandlot football with his buddies. "He was a great kid, one of my best friends," said Ken Brewer, 18, a friend and senior at Chardon High School. "He was one of those people who you could call if you needed help and he would go out of his way to help you," said Ken. "He had a big heart."

Demetrius, was known as "D," according to information provided by Burr Funeral Home. He was interested in body building, listening to music and volunteering at the Habitat for Humanity Resale Shop in Newbury, the Plain Dealer reports. The parents of one student killed told ABC News they have forgiven Lane, noting that Demetrius Hewlin was often late for school, but not late enough on Monday. His mother, Phyllis Ferguson, said Wednesday she doesn't know what her son's last moments were like, but she can't worry about that. "You have to accept things and move on," she said. When asked what she would say to the suspected shooter, Ferguson said, "I would tell him I forgive him because, a lot of times, they don't know what they're doing. That's all I'd say."

According to The Plain Dealer, a witness saw Russell slumped facedown on a cafeteria table in a pool of blood just after the shooting. He was taken by helicopter to MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland, where he died early Tuesday. His family donated his organs. In a statement released through the hospital Tuesday, the family said, "We would like to thank the public for their continued support. We would also like to extend our sympathy to the families of the victims of this senseless tragedy. We ask that Russell be remembered for who he was, a strong boy with a big heart. He will be missed by many. He was so full of life and we are honoring his wishes to help others by donating his organs. Please respect our privacy during this difficult time."

Funeral services are set for Daniel Parmertor, 16, who died Monday. He will be buried Saturday. According to the obituary information posted on the funeral home website, Daniel, "enjoyed Xbox, skiing, computers, and wing night at Cleats with his friends. Danny also loved spending time with his family."

An uncle, Charles Jaite, said in an interview Tuesday, "[Russell King Jr.] was a wonderful boy. He had a promising future in the field he was studying. He was just a great kid. I love my nephew very much."

A friend, Ken Brewer, said Russell liked the music of the bands Red Hot Chili Peppers and Sublime. And his biggest hobby, he said, was fishing off his dad's boat in nearby Lake Aquilla. Sometimes the two pals fished all night on the lake, hooking bass and catfish. "He just loved to fish," said Ken. "Russell was a really good kid. And I'm still in shock that this type of thing can happen. It blows my mind."
