About 400 demonstrators singing "We Shall Overcome" marched in a candlelight vigil Sunday night to the church for an hours-long program featuring musical performances and quick speeches. Patti Smith read a poem and rapper-turned CEO Russell Simons denounced the influence of large corporations and lobbyists. Yoko Ono was not in attendance but had a written statement read aloud.
