Judge overturns convicton of accused "Cannibal Cop"
On July 1, 2014, a New York City judge overturned the conviction of Gilberto Valle, who had been convicted of kidnapping conspiracy charges in 2013. Authorities said the ex-New York City police officer plotted to kidnap, rape, torture and eat the body parts of several women. According to a criminal complaint, Valle kept computer files of more than 100 women, which included their photos and address. He was found guilty of conspiracy and accessing a national crime database on March 12, 2013.
