Kristy Abreu, 19, of Westchester, N.Y., and her mother, 38-year-old Kendy Paredes, intend to sue the NYPD for $210 million over alleged rough treatment during a May arrest, according to the New York Daily News.
Kristy Abreu, who is currently holding the title of Miss Westchester, and her mother reportedly claim they were subjected to invasive frisks in Harlem, N.Y. after being stopped for a minor traffic violation. The women were not charged in the incident, according to the Daily News.
The newspaper reports Abreu and Paredes said they were "treated like animals" by police officers who allegedly locked them up in a cell, laughed at them and allowed another prisoner to taunt them.
