The Philadelphia Eagles agreed to terms with former New York Giants wide receiver Steve Smith on a one-year deal Wednesday. Smith's one-year deal is worth a reported $4 million, with $2 million in guaranteed money. The 26-year-old Smith had 220 catches for 2,386 yards and 11 touchdowns in four seasons with the Giants. In his 2009 Pro Bowl season, he caught a franchise-record 107 passes for 1,220 yards and seven touchdowns.

Ricky Williams

The Baltimore Ravens have agreed to terms with veteran running back Ricky Williams. The Ravens announced the deal, pending Williams passing a physical Tuesday. Williams played for the Miami Dolphins last season. The 34-year-old split time with Ronnie Brown in Miami and averaged 4.2 yards per carry. He rushed for 673 yards and scored two touchdowns. With the Ravens, Williams will play behind starter Ray Rice. Williams has rushed for 9,569 career yards and 68 touchdowns, recording 325 receptions for 2,523 yards and eight touchdowns.

Shaun Ellis

New Team: New England Patriots
Defensive end Shaun Ellis spent his entire 11-year career with the Jets. An unrestricted free agent once the lockout ended in late July, Ellis has found a home, signing with the New England Patriots, sources tell the Boston Globe. The deal is for one year and contingent on Ellis passing a physical.
Ronnie Brown

The Eagles agreed to contract terms with veteran running back Ronnie Brown, who spent his first six seasons with the Dolphins. The 29-year-old Brown rushed for 4,815 yards and 36 touchdowns and caught 184 passes for 1,491 yards with Miami. He ran for 1,000 yards in 2006 and made his only Pro Bowl team in 2008. Brown is the seventh major acquisition the Eagles have made in the past week. Brown was the second pick in the 2005 draft, behind 49ers quarterback Alex Smith.
Braylon Edwards

New Team: San Francisco 49ers
San Francisco signed the wideout to a $3.5 million, one-year contract. The 28-year-old Edwards made 53 receptions for 904 yards and seven touchdowns last season in his second year with the New York Jets. He spent his first five NFL seasons with Cleveland, making the Pro Bowl in 2007.
Nnamdi Asomugha

New Team: Philadelphia Eagles
The Philadelphia Eagles signed cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha to a five-year contract, the team announced. A three-time Pro Bowl pick during his eight years with the Raiders, Asomugha signed a deal worth $60 million over five years. Asomugha will now anchor an already-impressive secondary that added Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie and had quality cornerback Asante Samuel on the roster already.

The Jets reached an agreement in principle with receiver Plaxico Burress, the former Super Bowl star recently released from prison after serving 20 months on a gun charge. The team confirmed the deal Sunday morning. The 33-year-old Burress caught the game-winning touchdown in the Giants' upset of the unbeaten New England Patriots in the 2008 Super Bowl, before his career derailed after he accidentally shot himself in a New York nightclub in 2009. The free agent had also visited Pittsburgh, where he spent five seasons.
Jason Babin

New Team: Philadelphia Eagles
The Eagles agreed to terms with free agent DE Jason Babin of the Titans, reuniting him with his old D-line coach, Jim Washburn. Babin, who had 12.5 sacks last season, agreed to a 5-year deal worth a reported $30 million. Babin will be a book end pass rusher opposite Trent Cole, who had 10 sacks in 2010.

New Team: Arizona Cardinals
The Arizona Cardinals signed two-time All-Pro tight end Todd Heap to a two-year contract. It will be a homecoming for Heap, who grew up in Mesa and starred at Arizona State. Heap was released by Baltimore after 10 seasons with the Ravens. Heap is the Ravens' career leader in receiving touchdowns and is second in receptions and receiving yards. Last season, Heap had 40 catches for 599 yards and five touchdowns. Heap's 467 career receptions ranks fifth among tight ends and his 41 touchdown catches are fourth among all of those to play the position.

After three seasons in San Francisco, free agent LB Takeo Spikes has a new destination. The Chargers announced that Spikes and San Diego agreed to terms on a three-year deal.
Darren Sproles

New Team: New Orleans Saints
Free-agent running back Darren Sproles says he's decided to sign with New Orleans. In an email to The Associated Press, Sproles says he's a Saint now and "can't wait to get started." The speedy, 5-foot-6 Sproles, who has spent his first six NFL season with the San Diego Chargers, reached an agreement on a two-year deal but did not disclose the financial terms.

The Patriots obtained the colorful Ochocinco from Cincinnati and he agreed to a new three-year contract. It was not immediately known what the Bengals received in return.
Vince Young

The Titans have released Young, finally cutting ties with the quarterback they made the No. 3 pick overall in the 2006 draft. The team announced the move on Thursday, July 28, 2011, nearly eight months after owner Bud Adams said the team would trade or release Young.

The New England Patriots acquired talented and troubled defensive tackle Haynesworth for a fifth-round pick in 2013. Haynesworth has been a constant headache for the Redskins since signing a seven-year, $100 million contract as a free agent in 2009. The deal included a then-record $41 million in guaranteed money.

Roy Williams found a new home with some old friends just a day after getting his official release from the Cowboys. The veteran receiver has agreed to terms with the Bears, according to ESPN, and will re-unite with former offensive coordinator Mike Martz and former coach Darryl Drake, who works with Chicago's receivers.

The Eagles traded Kolb to the Arizona Cardinals for cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie and a second-round pick in 2012. The Cardinals reached an agreement on a contract extension with Kolb that will pay him $63 million, including a whopping $20 million in guaranteed money.

The Vikings acquired quarterback Donovan McNabb from the Redskins for a sixth-round draft pick in 2012 and a conditional sixth-rounder in 2013, according to two sources. In order to make the deal happen, McNabb had to agree to restructure the five-year, $78 million deal he signed with the Redskins because the Vikings don't have enough cap room to fit him in with the way the deal is structured.

The 35-year-old Hasselbeck will sign a multi-year deal with the Titans worth a reported $21 million over three years. With the retirement of Kerry Collins, the Titans were looking for a veteran quarterback to help mentor rookie Jake Locker, the No. 8 overall draft pick.
