When asked whether she was ready to take over for Miss USA 2006 Tara Conner, Smith admitted it would "be a little bit of a challenge," but quickly added she was ready for it.

The Kentucky native was in danger of losing her crown, but real estate mogul Donald Trump, who co-owns the pageant, gave her a second chance.
