NBC Fall Lineup

NBC's fall primetime lineup includes six new shows, five of them dramas (and one of these not really new), which emphasize the supernatural -- or at least the unlikely.

Sunday

This is Pink. And what does she have to do with NBC? And why is she holding a football? Pink recorded the theme song for the NBC TV show, "Sunday Night Football," which is entitled "Waiting All Day For Sunday Night." The song is a remake of the song whose title was originally -- and maybe they're trying to say something about America's football obsession -- "I Hate Myself for Loving You."

In "Chuck," Zachary Levi plays Chuck Bartowski, a computer geek who works at an electronics store, but accidentally has a lot of government secrets embedded in his brain, and thus becomes a secret agent, targeted by international terrorists and protected by a couple of good-looking CIA agents.

In "Journeyman," Kevin McKidd plays a newspaper reporter in San Francisco who starts to travel through time, which change's people's lives and causes some problems in his marriage, though it might help him meet his deadlines.

Adrian Pasdar, as Nathan Petrelli, has a disturbing encounter with Malcolm McDowell, as the shadowy Linderman, in the first season of "Heroes," which returns for a second season.

Tuesday, New

Former 'N Sync member Joey Fatone, with help from the Honey Bees dancers, is the host of yet another "reality show" talent contest, though the talent here has a good memory. In "The Singing Bee," launched in the summer, each episode features six contestants challenged to sing every word of the lyrics to popular songs.

Contestant Suzy Preston breaks through a picture of her old self, two years ago on "The Biggest Loser," which this year has a new host, Alison Sweeney.

Michelle Ryan plays Jaime Sommers, a woman who survives a terrible automobile accident and becomes "Bionic Woman," using her special powers for good. Apparently, though, one of her special powers is not knowing when to get out of the rain.

Damian Lewis stars in "Life" as Det. Charlie Crews, who was given a life sentence for a triple homicide that he did not commit, but was released from prison and now does his old job in a new way.
