On Jan. 13, 2010, Hall's agent and spokesman confirmed that he was undergoing treatment for a treatable form of Hodgkin's lymphoma. On April 25, Carpenter announced that Hall was fully cured and was set to get back to work on the show's fifth season.

Along with succesful shows "Six Feet Under" and "Dexter," Michael C. Hall is an accomplished theater actor. The North Carolina native has starred as Billy Flynn in a revival of "Chicago" and on Broadway as the emcee in "Cabaret."
