Maria Susana Flores Gamez, who was voted the 2012 Woman of Sinaloa, Mexico, in a beauty pageant in February 2012, was killed in northern Mexico on Nov. 24, 2012, during a shootout between soldiers and the gang of drug traffickers she was traveling with. A prosecutor said the 20-year-old beauty queen was traveling in one of the vehicles that engaged soldiers in an hours-long chase and gun fight. Police say her body was found lying next to an assault rifle. Gamez is seen posing for a photo on April 26, 2012.
