New realizations have been discovered by CBS News in the death of Steve McNair, the former NFL star quarterback who was found shot dead along with his girlfriend of eight months, Sahel Kazemi, that cast doubts on whether the apparent murder-suicide was more than a classic tale of love gone wrong. Kazemi appears here in this personal photo.

Nashville authorities' theory of the crime casts Sahel Kazemi, former NFL player Steve McNair's 20-year-old girlfriend, as a distraught woman who was in debt, had recently been arrested for DUI, and whose live was "spinning out of control," a police spokesperson said in a press conference.

But those closest to Sahel (aka Jenny) Kazemi--speaking for the first time--say that questions remain. "She wasn't angry enough to do something like that," Azadeh Kazemi, her sister, said. Sahel Kazemi appears in this family photo, second from the top with her sisters Sepide Kazemi (top) and Azedeh Kazemi (second from bottom), and her nephew, Farzin Kazemi.

Sahel Kazemi was described as "outgoing," "positive," and "very happy and upbeat all the time" by her ex-live-in-boyfriend of four years, Keith Norfleet, who spoke exclusively with CBS News Chief Investigative Correspondent Armen Keteyian for the first time since the incident.

Sahel Kazemi, seen here with nephew Farzin Kazemi, had been arrested for a DUI two days prior to her and McNair's death. Police say the arrest provoked her to purchase the gun which was used to take her and McNair's life that same day.

A jailhouse video shows Sahel Kazemi was in good spirits after the DUI arrest, contrary to authorities' theory that the arrest had provoked her to kill. The tape shows Kazemi at the jail the night of the DUI. She talks to strangers - at one point helps fix a woman's hair - she never seems angry or unhappy.

CBS News also obtained Sahel Kazemi's bank statement from the day she died, which shows she had more than $2,500 in her checking account--enough to cover her bills, which police believed had caused her anxiety.

"There are a bunch of inconsistencies that would cause me to go back and investigate it further," said Wayne Black, a former police detective and licensed investigator with 36 years of experience, said of the investigation.

After what Nashville Police called "nearly four days of intensive investigation," authorities concluded that Sahel Kazemi, McNair's mistress who used the first name "Jenny", purchased a gun after she was arrested for a DUI and then shot the football player and herself because of mounting financial issues.

Police say Sahel Kazemi, 20, spent the last week of her life worrying about money and the state of her relationship with McNair, who she had believed was separated from his wife.

"I still feel like something is missing, I don't think Jenny ever shot McNair, I don't think Jenny shot herself," said Lakresia Polite, a friend of Sahel Kazemi. Polite appears in this personal photo with Kazemi.
