Iowa caucuses
After months of fierce campaigning, Iowans take the first steps in deciding which candidate will receive their respective party nomination for president of the U.S. in a historic turnout, February 1, 2016.
Ted Cruz was declared the winner on the Republican side. Mike Huckabee and Martin O'Malley suspended their campaigns. Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders are in a dead heat.
