Even San Diego's Mayor Jerry Sanders got into the "American Idol" act, cutting a ribbon to mark the start of auditions in his city for the show's seventh season. More auditions are scheduled soon for Dallas; Omaha, Neb.; Atlanta; Charleston, S.C.; Miami and Philadelphia.
