Iconic coaster removed from N.J. waters
The coaster, which has become an icon of Superstorm Sandy's devastation, has been in the ocean for six months since the pier it sat on collapsed during the storm.
Seaside Heights Mayor Bill Akers said parts of the two-mile-long boardwalk are completed and he is confident it will be finished when the beaches open on Memorial Day weekend.
The Casino Pier in Seaside Heights contracted Weeks Marine to remove the wreckage of the iconic roller coaster from the surf.
