Actress Holland Taylor in 2000. Taylor was born on Jan. 14, 1943, and spent most of her teen years in Philadelphia. At 22, she moved to New York to pursue a career on Broadway.

After fifteen years of "disappointments and near misses" looking for a break on Broadway, Taylor was cast in the 1980 sitcom "Bosom Buddies" with Tom Hanks.

Taylor won an Emmy in 1999 for her work in the drama series, "The Practice."

"To have a great part like this at my age is rich, rich, rich," she said of her role as Judge Roberta Kittleson.
