Ford currently dominates the market for police cruisers, but has been increasingly challenged by Dodge and Chevrolet. The company hopes the Interceptor, a souped up version of the Taurus, will keep it ahead.

Ford claims the Interceptor's top configuration will have a 365-horsepower twin-turbo, 3.5-liter, V6 engine. Their less powerful model will provide 25% better gas mileage than the Crown Victoria based cars they are designed to replace.
