America hasn't lost its love for Denzel Washington. He's been voted America's favorite movie star for the second year in a row in an annual Harris Poll released Jan. 15, 2008. "The Great Debaters" star co-produced the film with Oprah Winfrey.
In 2007, Washington had a big screen hit with "American Gangster." He starred as a Harlem drug lord opposite Russell Crowe as a cop out to take him down.
2. Tom Hanks
Hanks, who ranked No. 2 in the poll for the second straight year, is currently starring as the title character in "Charlie Wilson's War."
Hanks with co-stars with Julia Roberts (No. 4 in this year's poll) and Philip Seymour-Hoffman in "Charlie Wilson's War." The Oscar-winner is one of only three actors in the history of film to have seven consecutive $100 million blockbusters, the two other being Tom Cruise and Will Smith. (No. 5)
3. Johnny Depp
Depp, who just scored a best actor Golden Globe for "Sweeney Todd," soared from seventh place to third in the most recent poll. The actor has also wowed movie audiences as Capt. Jack Sparrow in the "Pirates of the Caribbean" trilogy.
4: Julia Roberts
Julia Roberts, Hanks' co-star in "Charlie Wilson's War," is No. 4. A fan favorite, she's made the Harris Poll's "Favorite Movies Stars" list each year since 1999, reaching No. 1 in 2001.
5. Will Smith
What can you say about Will Smith? The "I am Legend" star is a favorite among movie goers not only for his roles on the big screen, but perhaps in part for the time he takes to engage with fans at his premieres.
6: John Wayne
The actor in sixth place has been dead for 29 years. John Wayne has made the top 10 every year the poll's been taken since 1994.
7: Matt Damon
Another crowd pleaser is the actor named as People's Sexiest Man Alive for 2007. The star of the "Bourne" films also keeps moviegoers smiling with his antics alongside Brad Pitt and George Clooney in the "Oceans" trilogy.
7: Sean Connery
The former James Bond actor, who tied with Damon for the No. 7 spot in the favorite movie stars poll, was named People's Sexiest Man Alive" in 1989.
9: Sandra Bullock
At No. 9 is "Miss Congeniality" herself. Bullock was No. 10 on the list in 2006. Last seen on the big screen in the 2007 thriller "Premonition," Bullock will get the chance to show off her sillier side again in the comedy "All About Steve," slated for theatres in 2008.
No. 10: Bruce Willis
Willis is probably best known on the big screen as tough cop John McClane in the movie series "Die Hard," which has spanned nearly 20 years. In 2007, after a seven-year absence, Willis was back in theatres with "Live Free or Die Hard."
