Fallen firefighters remembered

It was the deadliest single day for U.S. firefighters since the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks and the nation's biggest loss of firefighters in a wildfire in 80 years.

A makeshift memorial is displayed outside of Station 7 July 1, 2013, in Prescott, Ariz., where the 19 firefighters killed in a wildfire June 30, 2013, were based.

Station 7 has been the home of the Granite Mountain Interagency Hotshot Crew since 2010. GMIHC is a national resource that responds in the wildland and to all risk incidents in the Prescott Basin.
