Envisioning life in 2000 from a 1900 perspective
What did they get right in their predictions? - French artists, working in 1899-1910, conceptualized "France in the Year 2000 (21st century)" in a set of 87 futuristic drawings - the first series produced for the 1900 World Exhibition in Paris.
They might not have precisely foreseen drones, segways, hoverboards or iPhones, but they came up with some pretty cool, fanciful ideas and weren't far off on many things.
