Ellen Barkin
The Bronx native was born on April 16, 1954. After graduating from Hunter College in New York, Barkin attended The Actors Studio in New York.
Barkin told CBS News' Erin Moriarty she only got the part because every actress in Hollywood had turned it down: "Because she didn't come into the movie until, you know, page 50 or something. So they were desperate!"

The film/TV/theater actress landed her first lead film role in 1982, starring opposite Mickey Rourke in "Diner."
Among her more recent film roles are "Someone Like You" (2001), "Oceans Thirteen" (2007) and "Brooklyn's Finest" (2010).
