Egypt protests take deadly turn
Clashes between security forces and Morsi supporters in east Cairo left scores of protesters dead and hundreds injured following a day of massive pro-military rallies.

Morsi supporters continued to protest at the Nasr City sit-in one day after scores of protesters were killed during a violent confrontation with Egyptian security forces near the Rabaa al-Adaweya mosque.
Political allies of Egypt's military lined up behind its call for huge rallies to show support for the country's top general, Abdel-Fattah el-Sissi, pushing toward a collision with Islamist opponents who are also calling for rallies demanding the return of Mohammed Morsi, the nation's ousted president.

Egyptian prosecutors accused ousted President Mohammed Morsi of conspiring with the Palestinian militant group Hamas and murder in his 2011 escape from prison that left 14 guards dead.
The development fueled the likelihood of clashes as tens of thousands of supporters and opponents of the Islamist leader massed for rival rallies.
