Dogs in Taiwan upping their #selfie game

A new trend out of Taiwan has dog owners trimming their pup's faces into geometric shapes, in order to raise their internet appeal. We're talking canine heads sculpted into perfect circles and squares.

So, unlike Kim Kardashian and Beyoncé who notoriously photoshop their bodies into more perfect shapes before posting photos on Twitter or Instagram, these pups leave the doggie salon ready for their next selfie... No retouching necessary.

Hip to be square

Whether you think they're the most adorable thing you've ever seen or a form of acute animal abuse, these haircuts are certainly eye catching.

And in an age in which videos of people falling on their faces and riding wrecking balls naked go viral, these pups might very well become the next internet sensation.

Not a square deal

This poor pup looks more like a slice of Wonder Bread than Shih Tzu.

His owner might want to keep him away from the dog park for a while.

Circle in the square

Some pet owners in Taiwan are even taking it a step further, posting their dogs' before and after shots on social media, so people can admire the difference.

Circle is the new black

This new trend in doggy hairdos reportedly works best on breeds -- like poodles and bichons -- that grow a lot of fur around their faces.

The bigger the fur, the better shape.

These pups must run in the same circles as that last guy.

Be there or be square

You know that scene near the end of "Apollo 13," where the crew at NASA are trying to get their colleagues home... and they pour out a bag of odds and ends onto the table... and they say, "Okay, we have to make THIS fit into THIS, using only THIS."

Well, groomers in Taiwan are basically doing that... but with dogs.

Come full circle

So far, the only pictures that have surfaced out of Taiwan boast perfect squares and perfect circles....

To which we ask: Where are the octagons? Why not an isosceles triangle or a friendly rhombus?

Now, THAT would get the internet barking.
