Dispersing the Oil in the Gulf

CBS Radio News' Pete Combs traveled on a boat chartered by the National Wildlife Foundation to inspect the waters outside Venice, Louisiana for himself.

Chemicals Start to Effect the Oil

A dispersant chemical is added to help break up the oil.

The Oil Clumps Up

As that chemical takes effect, the slick will clump up and the oil will sink the floor of the Gulf.

Dispersal

Over time, the oil slick begins to disperse.
