Florida 'Facebook Killer' convicted of murder
Derek Medina, left, a 31-year-old South Miami man, allegedly posted a picture of his dead wife August 8, 2013 on a Facebook page attributed to him along with an alleged confession to her murder, CBS Miami reports. "I'm going to prison or death sentence for killing my wife love you guys miss you guys take care Facebook people you will see me in the news. my wife was punching me and I am not going to stand anymore with the abuse so I did what I did I hope you understand me," the Facebook post read. According to the station, Medina went to police the same morning to tell authorities that he had a domestic dispute with his wife and then shot her. Police say they later found the woman's body in a townhouse in South Miami.
He was convicted of second-degree murder on Nov. 25, 2015.
