O'Malley stressed his record of promoting liberal causes during his two terms, but he was also forced to defend his record on criminal justice as Baltimore's mayor.

When Sanders said the U.S. should look to countries like Denmark, Sweden and Norway on the economy, Clinton replied that while the U.S. sometimes needs to "save capitalism from itself," America was much different. "We are not Denmark. I love Denmark, but we are the United States of America," Clinton responded.

Lincoln Chafee
When Former Rhode Island Governor Lincoln Chafee was asked by debate moderator Anderson Cooper why he voted to deregulate big banks in 1999 by repealing the Glass-Steagall Act, the candidate responded, "Glass-Steagall was my very first vote. I'd just arrived, my dad had died in office." Chafee took over the Senate seat held by his father, John Chafee.
