Congressional Baseball Game
The Democratic and Republican baseball teams squared off in their annual charity game on Thursday, just 36 hours after a gunman opened fire on a practice.
U.S. Rep. Steve Scalise is in critical condition after being shot in the left hip. Zachary Barth, a congressional staff member, and Matt Mika, who used to work on the Hill but now is a lobbyist for Tyson Foods, were also shot. Two Capitol Police officers, Crystal Griner and David Bailey -- who are members of Scalise's security team -- were also wounded. Rep. Roger Williams was injured as well.
The Democrats beat the Republicans, 11-2, but they gave their trophy to Republican team manager Joe Barton of Texas to give to Scalise.
