Bogus STD cures: Are you taking one?
The government is cracking down on bogus remedies for herpes, HIV/AIDS, genital warts, and other sexually transmitted diseases. The FDA announced in early May that it had sent warning letters to 12 firms that hawk unproven over-the-counter pills and supplements. The agency said people with STDs might try them instead of making use of prescription drugs that are of proven benefit.
