Black Friday sales gone bad
In 2013, a shopper carrying a big-screen TV home from a Target ahead of black Friday was shot in the leg by a thief. According to CBS affiliate KLAS, the robber snatched the TV and took it to a vehicle with the help of another man.
The victim then approached the men and tried to take his TV back, and that's when the robber fired several more shots, hitting the victim once in the leg.
The shopper was taken to Sunrise Hospital with injuries that weren't considered life-threatening.
Pepper Sprayed for an Xbox?
A shopper at a Los Angeles-area Walmart used pepper spray on a crowd of people on Black Friday 2011, shortly after an Xbox display was unveiled at the store. The incident left nearly 20 shoppers with minor injuries. The suspect later turned herself in to authorities.
Tracey Attaway
Tracey Attaway, 39, was jailed on armed robbery and assault charges after he stabbed a U.S. Marine in the back at a Best Buy in Augusta, Ga. on Black Friday in 2011. A sales manager said surveillance video caught Attaway putting a laptop under his jacket. When confronted, Attaway dropped the laptop and ran out of the front door with a knife in hand. A Marine collecting donations for Toys and Tots tackled Attaway to the ground. According to Richmond County authorities, Attaway also tried to steal two digital cameras, an Xbox game, a PS3 game and a PS3 game controller with a combined value of $1,365.
Jerald Newman
Jerald Newman, 54, faced shoplifting and resisting arrest charges after a violent run-in with a police officer on Black Friday 2011 at a Walmart in Bucheye, Ariz. Witnesses told reporters that they saw Newman stick a video game down his pants while trying to pick up his grandson from the crowd. Police handcuffed Newman and reportedly slammed his face into the ground.
Jdimytai Damour
Jdimytai Damour, a 34-year-old temporary maintenance worker at a Long Island Walmart, died on Black Friday in 2008, after a mob of frenzied shoppers smashed through the store in Valley Stream, N.Y.
Fatal Toys R' Us Sale
Two men pulled guns and shot each other to death in a crowded Palm Desert, California Toys R' Us toy store on Black Friday in 2008, after the women who were with them got in to a bloody brawl, witnesses said.
