Sylvie Cachay, a 33-year-old swimsuit designer, was found dead in an overflowing bathtub in the SoHo House, a posh New York City Hotel, on Dec. 9, 2010.
Her former boyfriend, 26-year-old Nicholas Brooks, was convicted of murdering her on July 11, 2013.
The 33-year-old Cachay was found dead at about 3 a.m. on Dec. 9, 2010, partially clothed in a tub full of water. Nicholas Brooks, the 24-year-old son of Academy Award-winning songwriter Joseph Brooks, was found guilty of murder in her death.

Police discovered Cachay's body after they received a 911 call from the hotel. Water had been leaking from a ceiling and hotel staff went to the floor above, where they found Cachay, dressed in a sweater and underwear, submerged in the tub. Brooks was not in the hotel at the time the body was found.
Prescription drugs were found in the room, but the pills were in the bottle, and Cachay had some small red marks on her neck, police said at the time of her death. The room was reportedly not in disarray, and no illegal drugs were found.
